When a YouTuber Validates Your Product Vision
A YouTuber with 217K subscribers just spent 3 weeks testing every AI language learning app.
His #1 pick? Langua.
Here's what hit me about his review:
"I have just been on my phone, you know, just trying app after app, and Langua is still number one in my book."
This wasn't sponsored content.
Paul could have chosen any of the cheaper alternatives he tested. Instead, he said "you definitely get what you pay for" and kept his affiliate link specifically for us.
What impressed him most was something we obsessed over for months - authentic regional dialects.
He tested our Mexican Spanish tutor and immediately noticed she used "platicar" (a very Mexican way to say "to chat"). Then he switched to our Spanish tutor from Spain and caught the distinct word choices Spaniards use.
"Some of the other ones [apps] said they could do Cuban Spanish and Puerto Rican Spanish... The accent was not from those areas, but neither was the Spanish. It's like they just put a little Cuban flag and nobody's going to know the difference."
Building Langua has been an 18-month journey of getting these details right.
When an expert educator validates that we've actually solved the problem we set out to solve - helping people have real conversations in new languages - it's better than any performance metric.
Sometimes the best product validation comes from people who have no reason to say nice things about you.
What's the most meaningful external validation you've received for your work?
